Our Vision

At St James, our vision is to grow God’s Kingdom — in spirit, in size, and in service. We believe in being a fully inclusive and affirming church, working hand in hand with our community groups, local schools, and business networks.

For the past three years, we’ve been focused on prayer, service, and connection. As we step into 2026, our hearts are set on Renewal — renewing our connection with God, with one another, with other churches in the Warrington parish, and with our local communities.

Every Sunday, we gather for a traditional Family Eucharist, followed by our all-age celebration, Active Church for Everyone. Beyond Sundays, we share life together through prayer groups, meals, and outreach events throughout the year — all opportunities to grow in faith, friendship, and service.

Like Jesus, we welcome the stranger and treat them like family.

Our Leadership

Rev Rebecca Lloyd is our self-supporting priest whose focus is on mission into different communities in particular the business community. She has a passion for funeral and hospital ministry and serves as a Chaplain in the Liverpool hospitals as well as working full-time as a Solicitor.

Local Missional Leader, Paul Smalley focuses on our ACE (Active Church for Everyone) team, who run the 11am service.

Ian Richards is our Reader Emeritus. Ian still preaches regularly and supports our 9.30am service along with other missional activities.

What’s on at St James

  • A girl is being baptised in a church, with a priest and several people smiling and celebrating around them.

    Baptism

  • Four women dressed in traditional biblical costumes pose as if recreating a biblical scene indoors. One woman sits on a chair with a head covering, another stands behind her dressed in pink with a white head covering, another standing to the right with a dark headscarf, and a man on the far left in a white robe. There is a cloth on the floor with shredded paper resembling straw. The setting appears to be a staged or theatrical scene.

    Schools Work

  • A group of adults and children standing in a church setting with a large wooden cross on the wall behind them. They are smiling and gathered around a table with art supplies, possibly engaging in a craft activity. A projected slide is visible on the wall to the right.
